About the position

The Land Surveying CAD Drafter position at Actalent involves preparing detailed drawings and maps for land surveying projects using CAD software. Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed CAD drawings and maps based on survey data and field notes, including topographic maps, boundary surveys, and construction layouts.
• Work closely with surveyors, engineers, and project managers to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings and project deliverables.
• Interpret and analyze survey data to create accurate and detailed representations of surveyed areas.
• Perform quality control checks on drawings and data to ensure accuracy and adherence to industry standards and company procedures.
• Maintain and update CAD files and project documentation, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Stay updated with the latest CAD software and surveying technologies, and integrate new tools and techniques into the drafting process.
• Occasionally assist with field surveys and data collection as needed.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or certification in CAD drafting, land surveying, or a related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and a strong understanding of land surveying principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and data interpretation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
• Previous experience in land surveying or CAD drafting is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with GIS software is a plus.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4+ years of work experience ideally in land development or site civil.
