About the position
Straub Surveying, LLC is seeking a Land Surveying Crew Chief to lead field operations and contribute to the growth of the business. This role involves working primarily outdoors, utilizing robotic surveying equipment to conduct various types of surveys, including construction layout, boundary surveys, and topographic surveys. The position offers flexibility in hours to accommodate client needs and provides opportunities for advancement into project management.
Responsibilities
- Perform field work for various types of surveys including construction layout, boundary surveys, and topographic surveys.
- Lead a two-person crew using robotic surveying equipment.
- Report to the Operations Manager.
- Accept opportunities for growth into a Project Manager position.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience as a Survey Crew Chief or relevant experience in surveying or engineering.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to work independently.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with Leica equipment.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD/Carlson.
