About the position

The Land-Surveyor-in-Training (L.S.I.T.) Project Surveyor will support a team in executing various land surveying and mapping projects across multiple industries. This role involves assisting the Survey Department with field surveying, technical document development, and ensuring projects meet client budgets, deadlines, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience as a survey technician, be certified as a Land-Surveyor-in-Training, and possess a solid understanding of land surveying workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Survey Department with field surveying and development of technical documents.
  • Conduct various types of survey projects including Boundary Surveys, Topographical Surveys, and Construction Staking.
  • Lead and participate in a field survey crew as a party chief or instrument person.
  • Manage and track Key Performance Indicators (KPI) established by management.
  • Participate in workplace safety meetings and ensure safety standards are met.
  • Travel throughout California and other states for field survey projects.
  • Maintain company assets such as vehicles and survey equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in survey, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in land surveying or related geospatial projects.
  • Land-Surveyor-In-Training (LSIT) certification is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D, Trimble Business Center (TBC), and other mapping and survey processing software.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GIS services and various survey/mapping exhibits.
  • Familiarity with conducting field safety meetings.
