About the position
The Land Surveyor's Assistant position is designed for a detail-oriented individual who will support surveyors in various tasks related to land surveying. The role involves performing research, preparing exhibits and plats, and providing field crew support, all while ensuring effective communication and problem-solving skills are utilized throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Perform research of survey records with various agencies.
- Prepare exhibits/plats at the direction of the surveyor.
- Provide construction calculations and field crew support.
- Read and understand project plans.
- Utilize practical land surveying procedures and methods, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking.
Requirements
- Firm understanding of AutoCAD and basic computer skills; AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations efficiently and accurately.
- Experience in preparation of tract maps, parcel maps, records of survey, and corner records.
- Good communication skills.
