About the position

The Sr. Land Technician, with minimal supervision, supports the Land team with technical tasks related to the retrieval, preparation, processing, and management of data. The Sr. Land Technician must have a strong working knowledge of land data, processes, documents, and accounting invoices.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination and distribution of well proposals and tracking of elections to ensure appropriate and timely responses.
  • Manage non-operated proposals as received.
  • Prepare detailed Well Advice Sheets and distribute timely.
  • Full understanding and use of all Land legal descriptions.
  • Extract and analyze data and reporting from various business systems including Quorum, SAP, Well Master, Aucerna Execute, and various state and regulatory databases.
  • Request checks for Regional Land related payments as necessary.
  • Handle wire transfers for Regional Land related matters.
  • Request new customer/vendors to be set up for new land owners.
  • Conduct land/lease/contract research and prepare reports for Land staff.
  • Track and monitor land and leasing accruals.
  • Prepare and maintain land maps as needed.
  • Distribute land documents timely to Land Administration through ABBYY SharePoint List for setup into company records systems.
  • Research and correspond to inquiries regarding invoicing errors, broker billings, etc.
  • Ensure timely review, verification, approvals and processing for all invoices.
  • Provide technical support, analysis, and solutions to basic problems.
  • Help with projects that require a broad knowledge of technical land data.
  • Duties may also include assisting in ordering Title Opinions and/or obtaining and preparing necessary curative documents under direction of Landman.
  • Conduct business safely and with the highest ethical standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Associates or Bachelor's Degree in technically relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in related field or industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient use of company specific software and applications, including Quorum (QLS), SAP, Aucerna Execute, Open Invoice, Well Master, and SM Map (SPEX) and SharePoint including eLand and ABBYY.
  • Increasing knowledge of land processes and documents including oil and gas leases, contracts, maps and title.
  • Ability to use technical skills to gain further knowledge of industry and position.
  • Working knowledge of basic land concepts including various documents, AFE's, invoices, lease packages etc.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with ArcGIS mapping software is preferred but not required.
