About the position

The Land Use Planner at Circet USA is responsible for ensuring the efficient and legally compliant deployment of network infrastructure while aligning with the company's strategic goals. This role involves managing land use for telecommunications infrastructure, conducting site evaluations, negotiating land acquisitions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and assessing environmental impacts. The planner will also develop long-term strategies for network growth and maintain communication with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate suitable locations for telecommunications infrastructure based on coverage needs and zoning laws.
  • Negotiate and acquire land by working with landowners, real estate agents, and legal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with local zoning laws, land use policies, and building codes for proposed sites.
  • Navigate the permitting process and coordinate with local government agencies.
  • Plan the layout and design of telecommunications infrastructure to optimize efficiency and minimize impacts.
  • Coordinate with civil engineers and architects to meet technical requirements in designs.
  • Conduct environmental and community impact assessments for proposed sites.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate negative impacts and address community concerns through outreach.
  • Plan for future growth and expansion of network infrastructure considering technology trends.
  • Ensure efficient land use and alignment of infrastructure investments with company goals.
  • Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate project execution.
  • Build and maintain relationships with landowners and government officials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant coursework in land use planning, zoning laws, environmental impact assessment, project management, and telecommunications technology.
  • Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or Environmental Planning (optional but beneficial).
  • AICP Certification from the American Planning Association (beneficial).
  • PMP Certification from the Project Management Institute (valuable for project management).
  • Proficiency in GIS for mapping and spatial analysis.
  • Familiarity with planning and design software used in land use planning.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal zoning laws and regulations.
  • Experience with permitting and approval processes for land use projects.
  • Strong negotiation skills with stakeholders and ability to prepare reports.
