About the position
The Landing Gear - Mechanical Systems, Engineer 2, Service Engineering position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation involves performing engineering work related to the investigation and solution of technical problems associated with the research, design, development, service, and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft. The role requires a fundamental understanding of aircraft design principles and the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-discipline team.
Responsibilities
- Solves typical engineering problems within assigned discipline.
- Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes to completion of project milestones.
- Responsible for a complex engineering assignment, or a full project of lesser complexity.
- Follows established schedules while developing plans for engineering assignments.
- Obtains appropriate level of supervisor approvals for work accuracy and adequacy.
- Actively works to improve daily processes, ensuring all work meets customer requirements.
- Maintains current knowledge of developments and application of technical principles in assigned field of expertise.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related curriculum required.
- 18 months related Engineering experience.
- Fundamental understanding of aircraft design and construction principles.
- Practical hands-on aircraft repair experience and problem solving.
- Strong technical skills in Mechanical Systems, with Landing Gear System experience being a plus.
- Experience with Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalog, and Aircraft Maintenance Manuals.
- Ability to effectively work with and support a multi-discipline team.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous Gulfstream G650 & G500/G600/G700 experience is a plus.
- Flexibility to move quickly from one assignment to the next and handle multiple issues simultaneously.
