About the position

The Landman position at JUWI Americas involves securing land for solar energy projects across North America. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills to establish and maintain relationships with landowners and local governments, ensuring successful project development. The Landman will also engage in market research, negotiate contracts, and support the Development Team in various project-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Secure land for potential project sites by initiating communication and establishing relationships with prospective landowners.
  • Work with landowners to understand development limits, access, and other site considerations affecting project layout and installation.
  • Conduct market research to determine fair lease/purchase prices and represent the company in negotiations.
  • Negotiate letters of intent, lease and purchase option agreements, rights-of-way, and easements related to land acquisition.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community members and local governments, collaborating with project planners for regulatory approvals.
  • Perform or facilitate title curative work.
  • Participate in internal decision-making on land opportunities and strategies, including prioritization of outreach efforts.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of all land outreach efforts.
  • Contribute to project development efforts including site selection, site design, land acquisition, and grid integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Land Management, Planning, or Engineering.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications.
  • General knowledge of land contracts and transactions.
  • Demonstrated results in negotiating commercial deals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated efficiency in managing multi-disciplinary tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
  • A roll-up-your sleeves team player.
  • Willingness to work flexible and long hours.
