About the position

The Landscape Account Manager is responsible for managing daily operations within an assigned territory, focusing on client and employee retention, crew productivity, and workplace safety. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring that all landscaping services are performed to high standards and in accordance with contract specifications. The manager will lead production teams, oversee labor needs, and maintain quality across multiple sites while fostering employee development and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of sites within assigned territory.
  • Serve as client point-of-contact for day-to-day site issues and proactively address client needs.
  • Conduct walkthroughs with clients and company representatives as appropriate.
  • Schedule, assign, and direct production teams to ensure services are performed according to contract specifications.
  • Effectively communicate tasks necessary to provide a consistent, high-quality product for clients.
  • Assess labor needs and execute labor plans by hiring or terminating employees as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and foster opportunities for professional development of employees.
  • Review and approve timecards for accurate and timely submission to payroll.
  • Analyze cost reports and budget variances related to contract projects.
  • Monitor sites for quality and assess opportunities for maintenance and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with staff on minor enhancement projects and communicate with clients.
  • Work closely with Project Manager on client communication and expectations.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales goals.
  • Ensure safety on every site by conducting safety training and monitoring job sites for hazards.
  • Document coaching, conversations, counseling, and performance management discussions with employees.
  • Promote adherence to company policies and best practices.
  • Direct supervision of 2-4 crews and manage team activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Landscape Architecture, or Horticulture, or at least 3 years related work experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to speak effectively before employees and clients.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong relationship building and customer relations skills.
  • Strong management and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with commercial property managers is a plus.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate commercial landscape equipment and tools.
  • Working understanding of irrigation repairs and familiarity with irrigation controller monitoring.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform well under deadlines.
  • Organizational skills and flexibility.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Experience working with commercial property managers.
