About the position

The entry-level Landscape Architect / Designer will assist senior staff with various landscape architecture projects, contributing to the preparation of design plans, site analysis, and presentation graphics. This role is essential for supporting the development of projects across different sectors, including healthcare, urban development, and commercial centers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with senior staff on design packages for various projects.
  • Analyzes data on site conditions for environmental reports or landscaping plans.
  • Integrates existing and proposed land features into designs.
  • Prepares plans using CAD software.
  • Selects appropriate materials for landscape designs.
  • Analyzes environmental reports on land conditions.
  • Assists in the preparation of landscape plans, site plans, and construction drawings.
  • Coordinates project drawings and calculations with engineers and designers.
  • Communicates with project team members and client representatives.
  • Seeks guidance in resolving project-related issues.
  • Manages time effectively and works on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Visits project sites to review conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 0-2 years of experience in preparing schematic design and construction documents.
  • Working knowledge of landscape and native plants in the Midwest region.
  • Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and Sketchup.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound business judgment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with environmental analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with construction site inspections.
