About the position

SMMA is seeking a mid-level Landscape Architect to join their Site Design team in Cambridge, MA. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with various design experts and work on diverse projects across multiple sectors, including education, government, and technology. The successful candidate will engage in all project phases, from conceptual design to construction administration, while developing innovative site designs that meet client expectations and project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Think conceptually and develop designs independently.
  • Produce compelling graphics, models, and design representations.
  • Assist in developing site designs and details for various land development and building projects.
  • Take an active role in all project phases, from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Work independently and as part of project teams, collaborating with interdisciplinary experts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with digital tools including Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Interest and experience in green infrastructure and innovative rainwater management strategies.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, sound decision-making, time management, and organization skills.
