About the position

The Landscape Architecture Designer II at AECOM will work within the Washington, DC design studio, contributing to a variety of significant landscape architecture projects. This role involves collaboration on projects such as plazas, streetscapes, parks, and urban design plans, focusing on all stages of planning, design, and implementation. The position offers a hybrid work environment, combining office presence with remote work flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other designers on projects for Federal/Military clients, including streetscapes and environmental remediation.
  • Prepare documents and graphics for all phases of landscape architectural design, including site analysis and construction documents.
  • Perform basic landscape architectural calculations.
  • Prepare specifications, reports, and related data tables.
  • Maintain liaison with design and drafting groups.
  • Prepare and review drawings as required.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and departments on assigned projects.
  • Generate two-dimensional and three-dimensional design graphics.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Landscape Architecture or Architecture with two years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • US citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional experience in Microstation, Grasshopper, Revit, ArcGIS, Rhino, Lumion, BIM, FormIt, Enscape, and other computer applications.
  • Strong knowledge/interest in plant materials and their suitability for different conditions.
  • Experience preparing construction documents.
  • Working knowledge of grading, construction materials, and detailing.
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary teams.
  • Professional LA licensure is a plus.
  • Additional credentials such as arborist certification, CPSI, LEED, CPTED, etc.
