About the position
GBA is seeking Landscape Architecture students and recent graduates for a summer or fall internship at their Lenexa, KS headquarters. This internship offers hands-on experience in meaningful design across various public and private projects, including open spaces, parks, and community planning. Interns will collaborate with architects, engineers, and surveyors, gaining insights into business operations and design processes while visiting active construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and planning of public and private projects.
- Participate in public engagement and design charrettes.
- Collaborate with team members on various design tasks.
- Visit in-progress construction projects to gain practical insights.
- Support senior staff with CAD drafting and red line corrections.
Requirements
- Actively enrolled in a Landscape Architecture or Urban Design accredited program.
- Experience with Civil3D, Rhino, and Enscape is preferred.
- Completed at least two years of study, with three years preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrates fundamental design skills with attention to urban planning and detailing.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with additional design software.
- Previous internship experience in landscape architecture or urban design.
