About the position

Russell Landscape is seeking a dynamic Business Developer to lead and expand its construction division's market presence in the Southeastern United States. This role focuses on driving business growth, managing client relationships, and ensuring project success while offering lucrative rewards through a top-tier commission structure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sales projections and revenue streams aligned with company goals.
  • Build and maintain deep, meaningful relationships with new and existing clients to expand market share.
  • Attend networking events, particularly with organizations like ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors).
  • Review Invitations to Bid (ITBs) and ensure alignment with company capabilities.
  • Schedule and facilitate scope clarification meetings to solidify client expectations.
  • Oversee estimating deadlines and ensure timely proposal submissions.
  • Manage client follow-ups, address comebacks, and finalize negotiations to secure contracts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless handoff of projects.
  • Maintain regular, in-person check-ins with clients at key project milestones.
  • Deliver weekly updates on proposal statuses during financial and construction calls.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining client relationships in the Southeastern U.S.
  • Expertise in the sales and estimating process, including reviewing ITBs and preparing bids.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to manage complex project pipelines.
  • Experience with construction industry events and organizations (e.g., ABC).
  • Familiarity with software tools for estimating and project management (e.g., Microsoft Office, Cognito).

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of experience in landscape construction or a related industry.
  • Deep industry knowledge and network in the Southeastern region.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
