About The Position

Requirements

  • Knowledge of stormwater management and erosion control practices.
  • Familiarity with natural resource management and plant selection.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares conceptual designs for parks and open spaces, including cost estimates and feasibility studies.
  • Coordinates public input and formal review processes for park development plans.
  • Collaborates with operations teams within the Public Works Department on landscape designs.
  • Analyzes and synthesizes input from stakeholders to make project recommendations.
  • Prepares maps, plans, specifications, and bid documents for construction projects.
  • Manages requests for proposals and contracts for professional services related to park improvements.
  • Supervises contractor construction of park facilities and inspects ongoing work.
  • Oversees volunteer or in-house construction projects in coordination with maintenance managers.
  • Acts as contract manager for park-related projects and agreements with external agencies.
  • Provides information to the public and addresses complaints regarding park facilities.
