About the position

The Landscape Maintenance Crew Foreman at Top Of The Landscaping LLC is responsible for overseeing a crew of laborers to ensure high-quality grounds maintenance services are delivered to clients. This role involves managing daily operations, supervising staff, and operating various tools and equipment while adhering to safety guidelines. The foreman will also be responsible for reporting on job progress and ensuring compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a crew of laborers to ensure work is completed to high standards and meets client expectations.
  • Operate a medium-sized truck and trailer for transporting equipment and materials.
  • Perform year-round property maintenance tasks including snow plowing, shoveling, and landscape maintenance.
  • Plan and manage the loading/unloading of trucks and trailers with necessary equipment and materials.
  • Cut grass, trim edges, clean up refuse, and perform other lawn care duties.
  • Move and install soil, mulch, and plant material for landscape construction.
  • Identify and remove weeds in requested areas as needed.
  • Operate power equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and saws.
  • Inspect work for quality to prevent rework and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Train crew members on safe job methods and proper equipment use.
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles and tools.
  • Complete and submit daily paperwork including time and service records.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in trucks, trailers, and job sites.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in team leadership in the landscape/grounds maintenance industry.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Capable of operating required equipment and tools safely.
  • Effective communication skills for verbal instructions and report completion.
  • Time management skills to meet daily objectives.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment for landscape practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods and perform strenuous tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a valid DOT medical certificate.
  • Ability to drive a truck and trailer safely and back it up.
  • Must be able to work in varying weather conditions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in more than one language is a plus.
