About the position

The Landscape Operations Manager at Schill Landscaping and Lawn Care Services Inc. is a management role responsible for overseeing the daily productivity of field crews. This position ensures adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and productivity metrics while fostering a team-oriented environment. The manager will also be involved in training, scheduling, and improving crew performance to meet customer satisfaction and operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Train and enforce all safety procedures and policies.
  • Ensure work is performed to the required quality standards to satisfy customers.
  • Participate in the company's Quality Control System.
  • Oversee training and certification activities for crew members.
  • Identify and improve performance of lower-level crew leaders and crews.
  • Create capability within crews through training, instruction, and follow-up.
  • Ensure crews are dispatched with job hours, clear scope of work, and proper equipment.
  • Monitor productivity and consistency with the company's Production System.
  • Develop job plans that include scope, sequence of tasks, personnel qualifications, and work-hour targets.
  • Challenge and improve established job plans periodically.
  • Create job plans for new jobs before work begins.
  • Identify low-performing jobs and re-plan to improve performance.
  • Develop crew schedules optimizing job locations and equipment allocation.
  • Support mechanic's programs for maintenance and inspections.
  • Assist in developing production cost estimates for new opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison between field operations and administrative functions.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.
  • 8 years of landscape experience, including 3 years as a supervisor/manager preferred.
  • Knowledge of local turf types, shrubs, groundcover, and seasonal color materials.
  • Strong computer skills and adaptability to new software programs.
  • Ability to move and/or lift up to 60 pounds consistently.

  • Experience in snow removal activities during winter months.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and/or weekends.
