About the position

The Landscape Sales Account Manager at The Bruce Company is responsible for managing relationships with existing clients and facilitating the sale of landscape management services, primarily for commercial and multi-family properties in southeast Wisconsin. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service, client retention, and new client acquisition, contributing to the beautification of outdoor environments and the overall success of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all stages of landscape maintenance sales.
  • Renew existing contracts for Landscape Maintenance and Snow Removal.
  • Recommend process improvements to optimize sales and customer service.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new staff members.
  • Participate in marketing activities, including prospecting and attending networking events.
  • Prepare contract and presentation materials.
  • Present information to clients and negotiate contracts.
  • Diagnose horticultural issues and collaborate with the Landscape Maintenance Division Manager and Coordinators to find effective solutions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information.
  • Nurture positive relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Continuously seek new clients for Landscape Maintenance and Snow Removal.
  • Regularly follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and that all needs are met.
  • Coordinate with team members on project specifics and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure clear communication of contract specifics to the production team.
  • Pursue enhancement project requests and collaborate with the Small Projects Estimator to create estimates.
  • Participate in ongoing sales training and stay updated on sales techniques and landscape services.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • A degree or relevant experience in landscape management is required.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record is necessary.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in landscape maintenance and/or sales is required.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining customer relationships and providing excellent service.
  • Strong understanding of landscape maintenance, horticulture, and plant material, including perennials.
  • Knowledge of proposal and contract creation processes.
  • Understanding of plant identification, pathology, entomology, and turfgrass management techniques.
  • Ability to manage workloads effectively within deadlines and budgets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse team.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Access.
