About the position

The Landscape Truck Driver at BrightView is responsible for providing landscape maintenance support to various properties, including industrial, commercial, and public spaces. This role involves safely operating commercial-grade landscaping equipment, ensuring the upkeep of plant materials, and performing various landscaping tasks to maintain the aesthetic and health of the landscapes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Landscape Trucks for the day including securing all equipment onto trucks/trailers.
• Maintain and correctly use issued personal protective equipment.
• Safely operate vehicle in accordance with all traffic laws.
• Operate commercial vehicles to, from and around job site.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance check on vehicle.
• Prep soil uniformly for flower or groundcover installation.
• Plant material properly considering depth, size, placement, and spacing.
• Apply mulch appropriately for type of material.
• Water material correctly.
• Edge beds or establish new bed edges.
• Unload equipment from BrightView trucks/trailers.
• Wash equipment and truck.
• Change equipment blades and oil.
• Clean air filters.
• Grease machines.
• Conduct EDVIR on assigned vehicles.
• Safely perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of various landscaping equipment and materials.
• Safely operate hand and power equipment, including manual and powered sawing and cutting equipment.
• Leverage 80 lbs. of a walk behind mower over curbs.
• Be able to lift, push, or carry 50 pounds (mulch, fertilizer, etc.).
• Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day.
• Lift branches and limbs.
• Push, pull, grip, and squeeze various tools, products and/or items.
• Walk up to 10 miles a day, sometimes uphill and on uneven terrain, often while carrying, pushing, or pulling equipment, materials, or debris.
• Spray various pesticides/herbicides.
• Use hand saw.

Requirements

• Valid CDL
• Valid DOT medical certificate, or able to get one
• Some experience in lawncare helpful
• Must be able to operate various lawn care machinery
• Must be able to operate various vehicles, with or without trailers

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred, but not required
• Ability to work in extreme conditions - temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit
• Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
