Landside Agent - IAH

About the position

The Landside Agent position at George Bush Intercontinental Airport involves maintaining a safe and efficient airport environment by overseeing roadways, terminals, and ground transportation activities. The role includes enforcing safety and security regulations, managing commercial vehicle operations, and providing customer service to passengers and airport personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform staging area duties including posting and dispatching taxicabs using the Taxi Dispatch System.
• Process taxi ticket trip sales and conduct staging lot inspections.
• Obtain taxis for passengers and collect departure fees from taxicabs.
• Maintain taxicab availability in the terminal area.
• Facilitate commercial vehicle operations by processing permit sales and conducting inspections.
• Oversee curb zones for safe and efficient traffic flow of pedestrians and vehicles.
• Enforce tow and parking regulations and notify supervisors of potential citations.
• Monitor passenger access to airport terminals and assist with traffic accidents.
• Respond to calls for assistance from customers and the Airport Communication Center in a timely manner.
• Conduct inspections of landside facilities, roads, and terminals as needed.
• Complete daily reports/logs of all activities conducted during a shift.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Aviation Management, Airway Science, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field.
• Six months of experience in airport operations, airport security, or customer service-related field.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver's license and compliance with COH policies on driving.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain federally-mandated security clearances.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in airport operations, airport security, or law enforcement.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, especially in bilingual or multilingual contexts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and business writing skills.
