About the position

As a Language Teacher specializing in Spanish, you will play a crucial role in delivering our engaging Passport to Language curriculum, which is designed to enhance children's understanding of the world through language immersion. This position offers the opportunity to teach children through a variety of dynamic methods, including original music, dance, games, and storytelling, ensuring that students remain immersed and engaged in the target language. In this role, you will be responsible for leading classes that cater to children of various age groups, utilizing workbooks, songs, drama, and games to create a positive and fun learning atmosphere. You will also be expected to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues, providing written updates as directed by the Language/Curriculum Program Director. The position may require travel between multiple centers each week to deliver language enrichment, allowing you to reach a diverse group of students. Responsibilities

  • Engage students of all age groups through the Passport to Language curriculum.
  • Utilize workbooks, songs, drama, games, and other learning materials to create a positive learning environment.
  • Travel between multiple centers each week to deliver language enrichment based on the needs of the locations.
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately with children, directors, peers, and parents.
  • Create written communication to parents as directed by the Language/Curriculum Program Director.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • CDA, AA, or BA degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Fluent in Spanish, French, or Mandarin and English.
  • Experience working with children in groups.
  • Comfortable working with a wide variety of ages, including younger children.
  • Willing and able to travel within a predetermined territory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching foreign languages to children.
  • Knowledge of additional languages beyond Spanish, French, or Mandarin.
