About the position

The Large Ag Technician is responsible for performing diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on heavy construction and agricultural equipment. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and may involve working under the guidance of senior technicians or management. The technician will also participate in training programs to enhance their skills and maintain knowledge of industry products.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic diagnostics and service repairs on construction and agricultural equipment.
• Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs for skill development.
• Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Ensure the condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment is maintained.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations during work assignments.
• Complete all reports and forms related to work assignments.
• Account for all time and materials used in performing assigned duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience performing service repairs on heavy construction and/or agricultural equipment.
• Ability to perform basic and advanced repairs using special tools and following Technical Manual Procedures.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in repairs.
• Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly.
• Basic Service Technician certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Fork lift license preferred.
