About the position

The Design Engineer position within the Fluid Systems group focuses on the mechanical components of engines that influence control, fuel, and hydraulic systems. The role involves executing design, analysis, and evaluation of projects while adhering to engineering principles and business standards. The engineer will address fuel system field issues, support manufacturing, and contribute to product design for military engines, while also engaging in technical improvements of existing products.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles.
  • Adhere to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Broaden knowledge of technical discipline to execute policy/strategy.
  • Support roles with specialized technical knowledge while acquiring higher-level skills.
  • Understand key business drivers to accomplish work effectively.
  • Integrate work with other teams and contribute to the area.
  • Resolve issues requiring technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
  • Consult senior team members for issues outside defined instructions/parameters.
  • Develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE.
  • Explain technical information to others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an engineering position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Experience with pumps, actuators, or valves.
  • Passionate about receiving mentorship.
  • Able to work both in a team and individually.
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Complex component, module, or systems level analysis and/or hardware expertise.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
