About the position

The Laser Operator at Plaskolite is responsible for operating laser machinery to engrave and cut plastic parts. This role involves setting up and adjusting the laser equipment, ensuring operational efficiency, and performing routine maintenance. The operator will also program parts using laser software and ensure that specifications are met for successful production.

Responsibilities

• Operate laser machinery for engraving and cutting plastic parts.
• Set up and adjust machine lenses to meet specifications.
• Perform routine checks on equipment to prevent operational issues.
• Monitor and inventory tools and instruments required for operations.
• Program parts using laser software and determine material compatibility.
• Complete preventive maintenance on laser machines and identify parts needing replacement.
• Diagnose machining problems and make necessary modifications.
• Quote jobs for customer service based on specifications.
• Modify part drawings using AutoCAD.

Requirements

• Proficient in AutoCAD for part drawing modifications.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Mid-level math skills for calculations and measurements.
• Mechanical knowledge related to laser operations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Pass a physical and drug screen.
