About the position

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop CNC lathe programs using MasterCam for new parts on three, four, and five-axis machines. The ideal candidate will lead other operators within the area and have experience with Miyano lathes and Fanuc Control. This role involves setting up and running CNC lathes efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards from first article inspection through final part inspection.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CNC lathe programs using MasterCam for three, four, and five-axis machines.
  • Lead and guide other operators in the area.
  • Efficiently set up and run CNC lathes, ensuring high-quality parts from initial to final inspection.
  • Use and read precision measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Determine the sequence of machine operations and select proper cutting tools.
  • Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
  • Observe machines on trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure proper function and specification compliance.
  • Modify existing programs to enhance efficiency.
  • Determine reference points, machine cutting paths, or hole locations, and compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance or minor repairs on machines.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Mastercam programming.
  • Ability to read blueprints and program from scratch.
  • Experience with CNC lathe operations.
  • Ability to revise existing programs and perform machining tasks.
  • 5+ years of experience programming, setting up, and operating live-tooling lathes using Mastercam.
  • Leadership experience, ideally in guiding or leading a team.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience programming with Miyano lathes and Fanuc Control.
