The Latino Construction Program (LCP) Career Coach at the Spanish American Committee (SAC) plays a vital role in supporting program participants as they navigate through the Latino Construction Program and transition into job placement. The primary objective of the Career Coach is to educate and motivate clients, ensuring their sustainability and success throughout the program. This position involves managing the coordination of program cohorts from inception to completion, which includes sourcing, vetting, and recruiting clients, preparing logistics for the program, and maintaining continuous communication with participants to facilitate a smooth rollout and completion of each cohort. In this role, the Career Coach will provide ongoing training in various areas, including teaching, job and career identification, job evaluation, and case management. The Career Coach will work closely with the LCP committee to develop curriculum and activities for training classes, conduct individual training and workshops focused on soft skills and job readiness, and manage the placement of clients into work opportunities. Building partnerships with hiring managers to understand their business and recruiting needs is essential, as is establishing effective recruiting strategies. The Career Coach will also act as a mentor to clients, performing regular follow-ups to ensure their success in their current roles or during their job search. Additionally, the Career Coach will assist with bi-weekly job fairs, attend relevant meetings and trainings, refer clients to in-house services to address barriers to success, and conduct assessments to monitor job retention. This position requires a strong commitment to the mission and values of the agency, as well as the ability to think critically while providing superior customer service and empathy to clients.
