About the position

The Estée Lauder Companies is seeking a Summer 2025 Intern for its Enterprise Cyber Security & Risk team in New York, New York. This internship offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to gain real-life experience in a dynamic IT business environment, particularly within a thriving cybersecurity team. Interns will be entrusted with meaningful work assignments and challenging projects, contributing to the team's success and delivering results that matter. The internship is designed to foster learning and growth, allowing interns to engage with new and relevant technologies while working in a supportive and friendly culture. Interns will have the chance to demonstrate thought leadership by sharing their opinions, ideas, and learnings with IT and cybersecurity leaders and team members. Networking opportunities will be abundant, with planned events and activities that provide exposure to various facets of the company beyond IT. Additionally, interns will benefit from mentorship with seasoned professionals in HR, cybersecurity, risk, and business executives, as well as partnerships with other departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of various roles within the organization. Access to Employee Resource Groups (ERG) will also be available, enhancing the overall internship experience. The internship may include positions such as Cybersecurity Analyst and IT Compliance, Security, and Risk Analyst, allowing interns to explore different areas within cybersecurity and risk management. This role is ideal for students who are passionate about cybersecurity and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Gaining real-life experience working in an IT business environment and cybersecurity team

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a degree in a relevant IT/IS related field (e.g., Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering)
  • Completed coursework in cybersecurity fundamentals, IT compliance and risk management, security operations, threat intelligence, network security engineering, secure software development, or security architecture
  • Proficient in operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and MacOS
  • Coding skills in Python, Ruby, JavaScript, C++, SQL, Powershell, or other relevant languages
  • Interest or experience in using tools such as Splunk, Tenable, Snort, Metasploit, Burp Suite, Wireshark, nmap
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP and basic networking and operating systems
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team player
  • Strong willingness to learn and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., PPT, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must have completed Junior year by program start (June 2025) and on track to graduate in May/June 2026

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
