The Project Coordinator at Challenge will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful transition of products from design to production within the automotive manufacturing sector. This position requires a highly organized individual with strong leadership skills who will work closely with the launch team to deliver final products to the manufacturing group. The Project Coordinator will support a cross-functional team, ensuring that customer deliverables and program timelines are met effectively. This role involves establishing and maintaining an open-issues report and timeline, which is crucial for tracking project progress and addressing any potential issues that may arise during the launch process. In addition to managing timelines, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining program files in an orderly manner, facilitating and managing scope change activities, and minimizing project risks by keeping management informed of any developments. A key aspect of this role is to support lessons-learned sessions at the conclusion of each launch, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and practices within the organization. The position is based at the Spartanburg plant and operates on a standard schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Controls, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, along with a PMP certification. A solid understanding of automotive underbody components, APQP and PPAP processes, GD&T, and various manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly is essential. The Project Coordinator will also need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and possess strong coordination and planning abilities to effectively manage projects and ensure successful outcomes.
