About the position

The Laundry Aide is responsible for performing daily activities in the Laundry Department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the facility while ensuring an adequate supply of linen for residents. The position requires coordination with nursing services and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department according to standards and regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the facility and laundry areas.
• Ensure an adequate supply of linen is available for residents.
• Coordinate daily laundry services with nursing services in resident living areas.
• Follow established fire safety policies and procedures.
• Use safety equipment and supplies when lifting or moving heavy objects.
• Report all accidents/incidents to the supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Keep work areas free of hazardous conditions and clean equipment as necessary.
• Distribute clean laundry during emergency conditions as instructed.

Requirements

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions regarding cleaning compounds and procedures.
• Physical ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry it a distance of 50 feet.
• Knowledge of proper techniques for mixing chemicals and disinfectants.
