About The Position

The Laundry Assistant at Solaris HealthCare Pensacola is responsible for performing various cleaning and laundry tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment for residents and staff. This role involves handling laundry, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety and cleanliness standards in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in the Healthcare Industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the cleanliness and orderly manner in which resident laundry is handled.
  • Pick up, launder, dry and fold facility laundry (sheets, blankets, pillowcases, towels, washcloths, etc.).
  • Pick up, launder, dry, fold and hang residents' personal clothing, returning them to rooms and putting away folded belongings.
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained according to facility maintenance programs and procedures.
  • Clean lint baskets frequently and wipe down washers and dryers after each shift.
  • Report maintenance issues to the Maintenance department for repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area, paying attention to surroundings while moving heavy laundry containers.
  • Keep track of soiled, stained and tattered items and report to Supervisor.
  • Remove items that are not approved for further use and replace them.
  • Make supervisor aware of depleting counts of stock items when running low.
  • Use PPE while changing out chemicals and dispose of them properly.
  • Adhere to dress codes and maintain personal cleanliness.
