About the position

The Laundry Department Associate is responsible for the daily operations of the laundry department, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are met while maintaining an adequate supply of linens for residents. This role involves various laundry duties, including sorting, washing, and distributing clean laundry, as well as maintaining a clean work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department according to standards and regulations.
• Ensure the facility is clean, safe, and sanitary.
• Maintain an adequate supply of linens for residents.
• Collect and sort soiled laundry, linens, and garments.
• Separate items requiring special stain removal or treatment.
• Wash items following established procedures.
• Fold, count, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry and linens.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including cleaning floors and surfaces.
• Use equipment and cleaning chemicals safely and properly.
• Monitor laundry supplies and report inventory levels to the supervisor.
• Report equipment irregularities and malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Attend required training, in-services, and staff meetings.
• Strive to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Ability to follow established procedures for laundry operations.
• Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting solutions and their proper use.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
• Good communication skills to report to supervisors.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a laundry or housekeeping role.
• Familiarity with laundry equipment and chemicals.
