About the position

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel. This role involves all stages of linen processing, including collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, loading, unloading, ironing, folding, storing, and delivering linens. The attendant also cleans laundry machinery and the laundry area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect, transport, sort, weigh, load, and unload linens and towels.
• Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, and rags as directed by management.
• Clean dryer filter daily and maintain all laundry equipment as trained.
• Operate iron according to standards and ensure it is turned off at the end of the day.
• Fold linens and towels and stock linen carts as required.
• Sweep and mop laundry floors, ensuring all linens are stored off the floor.
• Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts.
• Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris.
• Stock all linen closets throughout the hotel as applicable.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
• Must be able to push/pull laundry carts weighing between 50-400 lbs.
• Must be able to occasionally pull linens from washer to dryer weighing between 25-150 lbs.
