About the position

The Laundry Production Manager at Crothall Healthcare is responsible for overseeing the hospital's laundry and linen program, ensuring a consistent supply of clean linen for all areas. This role involves managing staff, maintaining cleanliness standards, and ensuring compliance with health regulations while interacting with hospital personnel and the processing plant.

Responsibilities

• Assign duties to linen distribution staff.
• Maintain housekeeping and general cleanliness of the linen room and associated work areas.
• Inspect laundered items to ensure compliance with OSHA and JCAHO recommendations and requirements.
• Maintain records for department attendance, production efficiencies, and linen tracking.
• Contact appropriate hospital departments to obtain feedback and information regarding linen services.
• Participate in the central linen standardization committee as necessary.
• Interview candidates and coordinate orientation and training for new associates.
• Report overuse or misuse of linens and recommend actions to management and hospital personnel as necessary.
• Fill in for distribution staff when necessary to meet facility needs.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• At least one year of experience in laundry/linen or service-related field with high customer/client contact required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations.
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
• Ability to maintain organization in a changing and stressful environment.
• Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
• Willingness to work a 10-hour day on a regular basis.
• Proficient in the use of Windows-based office software including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
