About the position

The Laundry Worker is responsible for operating laundry equipment to finish flatwork and tumble-dried goods, ensuring cleanliness and quality of linens. This role involves sorting, folding, and maintaining linens while adhering to customer satisfaction standards. The Laundry Worker also assists in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the work area and may be required to adapt to changing job duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receives and sorts soiled linen into designated classifications.
• Operates automatic cart washer and removes linen carts from cart washer exit.
• Operates flatwork ironer and small piece folders, folding linen according to predetermined standards.
• Processes specialty items and ensures quality control of linens.
• Ensures linens meet quality expectations designated by specific customers, referring issues to the lead or supervisor.
• Identifies each linen distribution cart with proper labels and tags before transport.
• Folds and stores linen to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Assists truck driver in loading linen and/or materials onto the truck.
• Informs the lead or supervisor about par levels or quantity of supplies.
• Responsible for cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the work area.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a high production laundry is preferred.
• Ability to work as a team member and maintain effective working relationships.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies, and procedures.

• Ability to operate related equipment.
