About the position

As a Direct Support Professional at Devereux, you will play a crucial role in improving the lives of children and youth aged 8-21 with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), behavioral health (BH), and mental health (MH) diagnoses. Your primary responsibility will be to assist individuals in their daily lives, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being while implementing behavior management strategies to help them reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting individuals 1:1 with their individualized plans for daily life, including health & hygiene management, cooking, cleaning, and recreation.
• Ensuring individuals are healthy and living in a clean environment.
• Maintaining a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program clients.
• Participating in the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of the individuals.
• Providing accurate documentation including shift reports, incident reports, and individual progress notes.
• Coordinating group outings and activities for individuals.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required; education evaluation required if education was acquired outside the U.S.
• Some experience in behavioral health preferred.
