About the position

The Case Manager/Advocate at Laura's House is responsible for providing essential case management services at the Domestic Violence Advocacy Center and Resource Center. This role focuses on enhancing community awareness and collaboration regarding domestic violence issues, actively engaging with local agencies, hospitals, and first responders to support survivors. The Case Manager conducts outreach initiatives to inform stakeholders about available resources, ensuring timely intervention and assistance for individuals affected by domestic violence, thereby promoting safety, healing, and empowerment within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a case management plan addressing the needs of clients and their children.
  • Complete intake assessments with clients living in the community or in residence at the Emergency Shelter/Transitional Living Center.
  • Maintain accurate, current, and complete case files for each client.
  • Enter statistical and descriptive data for reporting requirements as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention by telephone or in person as needed.
  • Provide clients with transportation as needed.
  • Facilitate client groups as needed.
  • Supervise volunteers as needed.
  • Engage in community outreach efforts to raise awareness about domestic violence and Laura's House services.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with other agencies to better serve clients.
  • Represent Laura's House at networking events.
  • Enforce the policies and procedures of the Domestic Violence Resource Center and Advocacy Center.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client, staff, volunteer, and agency information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, human services or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • One or more years of legal advocacy or case management experience preferred.
  • 40-hour domestic violence training as required by law.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and appropriate insurance.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
