About the position
The Lawn Spray/Fertilization Technician at Southern Care Lawn and Pest is responsible for diagnosing and resolving turf, weed, and shrub problems to enhance the beauty of customers' properties. This role emphasizes environmentally responsible lawn care treatments and offers opportunities for career growth in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide unmatched customer service by professionally communicating with customers about their service.
- Make recommendations for continuous improvement in customers' lawn care needs.
- Identify solutions for common and complex lawn care issues and play an active role in the implementation of those solutions.
- Use environmentally responsible lawn care products and follow proper application guidelines.
- Drive an assigned route using a company vehicle.
- Maintain company vehicles including cleanliness and submitting requests for routine maintenance to the fleet department.
- Use technology (smartphone, tablet, etc.) to read and follow routes, order specifications, and enter job details.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Department of Agriculture HLT Cat3 Certification, Pesticide License, or ability to pass company-paid exam within 60 days of hire (AR,TN employees only).
- Background in lawn care/landscaping or golf course maintenance preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of fertilizers, insecticides, and fungicides preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, with or without any accommodation.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in Landscaping, Maintenance, Construction, or General Laborer.
- Flexibility to work Saturday hours on an as-needed basis to meet production goals.
