About the position
The Lay Coach for Wrestling at South Lake High School is responsible for coaching the boys wrestling team, ensuring the development of athletes, and managing the team's activities throughout the wrestling season. This position requires certification through the Florida Department of Education and involves various costs associated with certification and background checks. The role is part-time and compensated on a monthly basis, with payments made after the completion of the wrestling season.
Responsibilities
- Coach the boys wrestling team at South Lake High School.
- Develop training programs and strategies for athletes.
- Manage team activities and ensure compliance with school policies.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices and competitions.
Requirements
- Valid CPR Certification.
- Eligibility for Athletic Coaching certification through the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE).
- Completion of fingerprinting and drug testing requirements.

- Experience in coaching wrestling or similar sports.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
