About the position

The Ld Analyst Systems IT position at Medline Industries is a full-time role based in Libertyville, IL, responsible for the project planning, execution, and implementation of changes to business applications. The individual in this role will ensure accurate, timely, and efficient configuration of business applications, demonstrating the technical skills necessary to execute applications, develop reports, and create dashboards. Additionally, the position requires strong problem-solving abilities, leadership, and communication skills to drive change effectively within the organization. The analyst will also act as a mentor to less experienced Business Systems Analysts, overseeing software development methods, processes, and implementation strategies. In this role, the analyst will provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost-effective and meet user requirements. They will work cross-functionally to deliver system functionality that supports streamlined and efficient processes. The analyst will analyze complex business problems that can be solved with automated systems, assess business process and system inefficiencies, and develop recommendations for operational processes or improvements. They will collaborate with various departments to translate new requirements into design and implementation, configure system settings, and execute testing phases to ensure that changes work as intended. The position also involves documenting functional specifications for system solutions and enhancements, serving as a liaison between business units and the IT team, and assisting in quality assurance and testing strategy definition. The analyst will perform implementation and configuration activities, monitor data quality and integrity, create training materials, and provide consultation to users regarding automated systems. This role is crucial for ensuring that business applications are effectively utilized and continuously improved to meet the evolving needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver system functionality to support streamlined and efficient processes.
  • Analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated systems.
  • Assess business process and system inefficiencies.
  • Develop and recommend operational processes and/or process improvements.
  • Work with departments/team to develop new requirements into design and implementation.
  • Configure system settings and options; plan and execute unit, integration and acceptance testing; and create specifications for systems to meet business requirements.
  • Document functional specifications for system solutions and enhancements to existing business systems.
  • Serve as the conduit between business unit and IT team with UAT and end-users as needed to develop and execute appropriate test plan to verify configuration changes work as intended.
  • Assist in quality assurance and defining testing strategy and risks.
  • Perform implementation and configuration activities including prototyping, analysis, system configuration, operational implementation and process documentation.
  • Develop, maintain and perform processes to monitor data quality and integrity.
  • Create training materials and train new employees on system.
  • Provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology or related field.
  • At least 5 years of data, business and/or systems analyst experience to include translating between business and technical requirements.
  • Experience with structured querying language (SQL).
  • Experience applying knowledge of relational database schemas.
  • Previous experience providing direct user/client support.
  • Experience diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Experience communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
