About the position

As a Lead A&P Mechanic at Mountain Air Cargo, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our aircraft operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the effective use of manpower to accomplish task assignments as requested by the Hanger/Line Manager or MAC Maintenance Control. Your commitment to maintaining the highest level of reliability and safety is paramount, and you will adhere to all applicable MAC, manufacturer, and FAA policies, procedures, manuals, and regulations. In this position, you will assign and monitor individual task assignments to mechanics on a daily basis, providing technical assistance as needed. It is essential that you ensure all mechanics maintain their current training status on the tasks assigned to them. You will also perform Quality Control checks on the work accomplished to guarantee that all maintenance meets the highest standards of reliability and safety. Daily reporting to the Hanger/Line Manager regarding the status of aircraft on station and man-hour utilization will be part of your responsibilities. You will ensure that all paperwork related to aircraft and components is complete and accurate, in accordance with MAC policies. Additionally, you will maintain aircraft in compliance with legality, safety, and reliability standards. This role may require you to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned, and it will involve heavy physical effort on occasion, along with continuous mental and visual attention.

Responsibilities

  • Assign and monitor individual task assignments to mechanics on a daily basis.
  • Provide technical assistance to mechanics and work on aircraft as required.
  • Ensure mechanics maintain current training status on tasks assigned.
  • Perform Quality Control checks on work accomplished to ensure the highest level of reliability and safety.
  • Report to Hanger/Line Manager daily status of aircraft on station and man-hour utilization.
  • Ensure all paperwork is complete and accurate on all aircraft and components in accordance with MAC.
  • Adhere to Company policy and procedure.
  • Maintain aircraft in accordance with legality, safety, and reliability standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience as an A&P Mechanic with a strong understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of mechanics effectively.
  • Strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to report status and provide guidance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with ATR, C408, and C208 aircraft is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Quality Control processes in aircraft maintenance.
