About the position

The Lead Access Control Technician is responsible for overseeing and executing the installation and maintenance of various security systems, including access control, intrusion alarms, and CCTV systems. This role involves direct interaction with clients, ensuring that installations meet safety and regulatory standards, and leading a team of technicians on-site.

Responsibilities

• Delegating and supervising on-site installations
• Performing on-site walkthroughs and customer service
• Coordinating with the client and project managers
• Installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and configuring/programming access control, security, intrusion alarm, closed circuit television, camera systems, fire and other various security-related systems
• Evaluating, diagnosing, troubleshooting, re-configuring, and testing equipment and devices and repairing as necessary
• Assisting on installation projects as needed
• Performing service tasks required to fulfill service requirements
• Reading and understanding drawings and prints to install the correct equipment in the correct locations.

Requirements

• Ability to lead and supervise a team of technicians
• Experience customer-facing and performing on-site walkthroughs
• Must be able to read technical documents, drawings, and prints
• Working knowledge of the NEC and electrical/electronic calculations
• 5+ years working in electronics, basic electric circuit troubleshooting (working knowledge of Ohm's law)
• Electronics and troubleshooting skills required
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Must be able to climb ladders and carry a backpack of 50+ pounds unassisted.

Nice-to-haves

• Preferred to have knowledge of fire and electrical codes to ensure safe and proper installation of alarm systems and devices.
