About the position

The Lead Accountant will be a key member of a virtual CPA firm specializing in financial services for law, architectural, and engineering firms. This role focuses on accurate financial management, producing reports, and providing insights to enhance clients' financial strategies. Responsibilities

• Produce accurate financial and management reports to support data-driven decision-making for clients.
• Provide insights into financial performance trends and deliver actionable feedback to optimize financial strategies.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review income statement items for accuracy.
• Proactively identify patterns and potential issues in financial data.
• Oversee and streamline multiple billing, management, and reporting systems for enhanced efficiency.
• Leverage technology and best practices for optimal results.
• Support and collaborate with firm managers, CFOs, and other key stakeholders to address financial needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or a four-year degree with at least 24 hours in accounting coursework, or an Associate's degree in accounting with relevant experience.
• Minimum of 12 months experience using QuickBooks Online.
• Experience with payroll tools like Gusto, Paychex, QB Payroll, or other payroll processing software.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in payroll processing and balance sheet reconciliation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using tools like Slack, Snagit, and Outlook.
• Willingness to learn and master new software tools.
