About the position

The Lead Accountant will be a key member of a virtual CPA firm specializing in financial services for law, architectural, and engineering firms. This role focuses on accurate financial management, producing reports, and providing insights to enhance clients' financial strategies. The Lead Accountant will also oversee billing and reporting systems, ensuring efficiency and accuracy while collaborating with firm managers and CFOs.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate financial and management reports to support data-driven decision-making for clients.
• Provide insights into financial performance trends and deliver actionable feedback to optimize financial strategies.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review income statement items for accuracy.
• Proactively identify patterns and potential issues in financial data.
• Oversee and streamline multiple billing, management, and reporting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Leverage technology and best practices for optimal results.
• Support and collaborate with firm managers, CFOs, and other key stakeholders to address financial needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or a four-year degree with at least 24 hours in accounting coursework, or an Associate's degree in accounting with relevant experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in financial statement responsibility.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience using QuickBooks Online.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and accounting software.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with payroll tools like Gusto, Paychex, or QB Payroll.
• Familiarity with Slack and Snagit.
