About the position

As a Senior Revenue Recognition Accountant at Intuit, you will play a crucial role in applying revenue recognition principles within the Controllership, Assurance & Operations (CAO) organization. This position focuses on enhancing financial efficiency and supporting business growth through effective revenue accounting practices. You will be responsible for managing complex accounting processes, collaborating with various business units, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Apply, enforce, and execute the Company's revenue recognition policy according to ASC 606 standards.
  • Perform financial analyses to support reserves and other revenue and expense impacting entries.
  • Prepare and maintain reports and schedules for senior management and auditors.
  • Collaborate with business unit partners, accounting leads, and internal/external auditors on accounting matters.
  • Manage and streamline systems and reporting tools to ensure accurate revenue recording and classification.
  • Establish and enforce controls to ensure compliance with Intuit's policies and GAAP standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and work product quality.
  • Participate in the month- and quarter-end close process, preparing journal entries and maintaining account reconciliations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting with a minimum of 7 years of experience or equivalent work experience.
  • CPA or MBA is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of software and SaaS revenue accounting literature.
  • Demonstrated experience managing across functions and businesses in a large public company environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time prioritization skills.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle, QuickBase, Qlik Sense, and RevStream is a plus.
  • Experience with SOX compliance and key systems/applications is preferred.
  • Strong PC, worksheet, and word processing skills.

  • Proficiency in managing and optimizing key financial and ERP systems for accurate revenue reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and lead discussions related to accounting strategies and policy updates.
  • Willingness to stay current on evolving accounting standards (FASB, SEC).
  • Attention to detail and precision in handling complex accounting procedures and reconciliations.
