About the position

The Revenue Recognition Lead at Intuit is a pivotal role within the Accounting organization, responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient accounting and operations functions aligned with revenue recognition policies. This position involves collaboration with various teams to provide technical revenue guidance and ensure proper revenue accounting practices. The role is highly visible and integral to maintaining accurate financial statements while supporting the company's growth.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the accounting and operations functions are working accurately and efficiently in alignment with revenue recognition policies.
• Collaborate with business unit marketers, product managers, Finance, and IT teams to understand business strategy and requirements for revenue recognition.
• Provide technical revenue guidance and ensure proper systemic and manual revenue accounting.
• Drive strategy to support revenue recognition, new offerings, and business changes.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce the Company's revenue recognition policy under ASC 606.
• Perform technical accounting research and stay current on evolving Accounting Standards.
• Establish and maintain controls to ensure compliance with Company policy and GAAP regarding revenue forecasts and accounting execution.
• Cultivate strong relationships with leaders in Accounting, Finance, and across the business for timely decision-making on revenue recognition matters.
• Develop and deliver training programs related to revenue recognition to business unit and functional team leaders.
• Streamline systems and reporting tools for efficient and accurate revenue recording.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting with a minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience or equivalent work experience.
• CPA or MBA highly desirable.
• Strong technical accounting and revenue knowledge for financial statements and internal controls over financial reporting.
• Demonstrated understanding of relevant revenue recognition accounting literature.
• Strong analytical thinking, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of management.
• Proficiency in PC, worksheet, and word processing skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Background in public accounting or internal audit is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Oracle R12, Siebel/BRM, and Business Objects.
