About the position

The Lead Addiction Technician at Mirror Inc. plays a crucial role in the supervision and management of Addiction Technicians who provide care and support to residential clients. Under the guidance of the Area Director, this position is responsible for scheduling and overseeing the daily activities of the Addiction Technicians, ensuring that all operational standards are met and that clients receive the necessary support in their recovery journey. The Lead Addiction Technician must possess a comprehensive understanding of Mirror's treatment model and philosophy, allowing them to interact effectively with clients and support their recovery processes. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, the Lead Addiction Technician is tasked with various administrative duties, including charting client behavior, managing paperwork related to urinalysis testing, and assisting clinical staff as needed. The role requires a proactive approach to compliance, as the Lead Addiction Technician will conduct onsite reviews of daily operations, identify areas for improvement, and recommend corrective actions to the Clinical Supervisor. Training and development are also key components of this position, as the Lead Addiction Technician will develop and deliver training on program policies and procedures to ensure that all staff are well-informed and equipped to provide the best care possible. The Lead Addiction Technician must be adaptable, as the position requires working varying schedules and shifts, including weekends. They will also be responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of supplies and may be involved in limited food preparation tasks. Overall, this role is essential in fostering a supportive environment for clients and ensuring that the treatment program runs smoothly and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and schedule all Addiction Technicians as directed by the Area Director.
  • Chart client behavior and manage related paperwork requirements for urinalysis testing.
  • Assist the site Director with the paperwork demands of the treatment program.
  • Serve as a communications link within the agency by interpreting rules, regulations, and program policies to staff.
  • Conduct onsite reviews of daily operations for compliance with operational standards.
  • Develop and deliver technical training on program policies and procedures.
  • Supervise clients during assigned hours and monitor groups as required.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory and adequate stock of supplies for office and facility needs.
  • Provide educational presentations and facilitate offender recreation therapy as directed.
  • Attend and participate in all staff meetings as directed by the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Assist clinical and administrative staff with compliance and audit processes.
  • Supervise resident clean-up of kitchen facilities and perform limited food preparation as needed.
  • Supervise Addiction Technicians, including hiring and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in administrative, secretarial, or clerical tasks.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Electronic Health Records.
  • Awareness of addictive behaviors and recovery processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and maintain a team spirit.
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to follow through on multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work overtime hours if needed.
  • Knowledge of treatment policies and procedures.
  • Ability to pass a background/security check.
  • Sustained minimum of two consecutive years of abstinence from all intoxicating substances for employees with a history of substance use disorder.
