The Lead Admissions Specialist/Recruiting position at Jefferson State Community College is responsible for enhancing student recruitment efforts in the Pell City and Clanton service areas. This role involves engaging with prospective students, providing guidance on admissions and financial aid processes, and representing the college at various community events. The specialist will also oversee recruitment activities, maintain records, and assist in organizing events to promote the college's offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Counsel prospective students with admissions application and financial aid processes.
  • Maintain records of recruitment activities and initiatives, including enrollment and retention data.
  • Travel to Chilton and St. Clair area high schools to communicate program offerings and college policies.
  • Attend local awards ceremonies at high schools in the community.
  • Assist with special recruitment events on campus such as Preview Days and Open Houses.
  • Develop brochures, fliers, and related materials to promote admissions.
  • Plan and provide New Student Orientation.
  • Promote positive campus/community relations for Enrollment Services and the college.
  • Order and maintain recruiting supplies for the Recruiting Office.
  • Represent the college at various programs and events.
  • Assist during registration as needed.
  • Provide or coordinate campus tours of the college.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • One year of full-time related work experience preferred.
