About the position

The Lead AI Engineer at Capital One is responsible for developing and deploying AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions and improve operational efficiency. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create scalable AI solutions, leveraging advanced technologies and methodologies to optimize performance and deliver value to millions of customers. The position is pivotal in advancing Capital One's AI capabilities and ensuring the responsible use of AI in banking.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies for product development.
• Invent and introduce LLM optimization techniques for production AI systems.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus at least 4 years of experience in AI and ML development, or a Master's degree plus at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Experience designing and supporting AI services.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field.

Nice-to-haves

• 6 years of experience in deploying AI solutions.
• Experience with LLM Inference, Similarity Search, and VectorDBs.
• Experience optimizing training and inference software for performance.
