About the position

The Lead Analyst, External Manufacturing Supply Integration (EMSI) at Johnson & Johnson is responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of external manufacturing supply with vendors. This role focuses on meeting business, customer, and patient requirements while monitoring key performance indicators and supporting risk mitigation activities. The analyst will collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage supply issues and optimize supply chain processes, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain operations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the seamless integration of EM supply with vendors of moderate to low size and complexity.
  • Ensure EM capability meets the short and long-term business, customer, and patient requirements of DPS.
  • Ensure the EM has the necessary information to deliver quality products consistently and on-time, including the implementation and closure of supplier change orders (SCR).
  • Monitor and develop EM key performance indicators (KPI's) such as lead time, on-time delivery, backorder, S&OP attainment, SCR closure, and risk composite score.
  • Support the development and implementation of proactive risk mitigation activities with both the EM and their extended supply chain partners.
  • Represent EM to internal stakeholders as part of the STEM and Supply Chain Launch Readiness processes to prioritize & manage the resolution of supply issues.
  • Provide input into the DPS EM/ExOps Supply S&OP process.
  • Coordinate the synchronization of supply and demand for their group of suppliers, potentially implementing S&OP meetings between DPS and the EM.
  • Ensure organizationally aligned incentives between DPS and the EM and escalate opportunities for enhancement.
  • Support/Coordinate the deployment of supplier development/Operations Excellence engagements & resources across the supplier.
  • Tactical management of the hand-off of supplier planning outputs used to generate global supply requirements and Regional service commitments.
  • Facilitate cross-functional decision making as it pertains to trade-offs within the EM network.
  • Convert DPS net requirements into an attainable supply plan for EM products.
  • Collaborate in areas such as inventory, service, and cost optimization, lead time reduction, and supplier performance measurement.
  • Communicate business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in a Business-related field of study, Supply Chain, Logistics Sciences or Engineering field is required.
  • 4-6 years of direct experience within Supplier Relationship Management, Planning, or Manufacturing Operations, preferably within the medical device industry is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally is required.
  • Strong written and oral communication, influencing, and negotiation skills are required.
  • A positive, customer-focused and collaborative approach to problem solving is required.
  • The ability to develop data and leverage metrics and analytics to generate insights for continuous improvement is required.
  • The ability to work independently and with urgency in a globally matrixed environment is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • A background in Operational Excellence (Lean / Six-Sigma) is preferred.
  • Firm understanding of E2E supply chain with an emphasis on Planning and constraint theory is preferred.
