About the position

The Lead Analyst - Financial Accounting at AVANGRID Service Company is responsible for overseeing the accounting activities within the Avangrid Group, which includes both regulated and non-regulated business affiliates. This role involves managing the AGR Financial Ledger and supporting the Business Control Teams in utilizing the SAP application to adhere to group accounting policies. The position also includes participation in the review and preparation of standalone financial statements for the AGR.

Responsibilities

• Lead the AGR Accounting Teams through the accounting close of standalone companies in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standards.
• Prepare standalone financial statements for corporate companies.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and quality standards through review and analysis of SAP financial records and business processes.
• Analyze business needs to assist in the development of detailed accounting policies.
• Review and analyze monthly P&L and key performance indicators to identify variances and unusual items.
• Support external and internal audits by executing internal controls and preparing supporting materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Accounting or financial experience.
• Experience in preparation or audit of financial statements.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of FERC accounting standards.
